ISSCNL Awards
 
PURPOSE AND DESCRIPTION OF THE AWARDS

 
The ISSCNL Awards Program recognizes the contributions of Chinese scientists, physicians, and public servants who have made major advances in the understanding, diagnosis, treatment, cure and prevention of human disease.
 
The Basic Medical Research Award honors scientists whose fundamental investigations have provided techniques, information or concepts contributing to the elimination of major causes of disability and death.
 
The Clinical Medical Research Award honors investigators whose contributions have improved the clinical treatment of patients.
 
The Translational Medical Research Award honors investigators whose contributions have accelerated the process of translating laboratory discoveries into treatments for patients.
 
The awards winners will receive a diploma issued by the International Society of Scientific Communications for Nobel Prize Laureates (ISSCNL) and scholarship for supporting their future studies.


 
CANDIDACY CRITERIA

· Chinese Citizens.


· Persons who have made great breakthroughs or have produced original and innovative 
  achievements in basic, clinical or translational cancer research.


 

TIMELINES

· September to November 30th: nominations should be submitted.

  Nominations may be submitted by the members of the Award’s Nomination Committee or
  individuals.

 
· December to January: The Nomination Committee will assess the candidates' work and prepare
  a short list of 30 candidates.

 
· February: 9 candidates from the 30 will be selected by the Preliminary Committee for further
  evaluation.

 
· March: reviewing & choosing winners.

 
· April: awards ceremony.


 

NOMINATION PROCEDURE

 

1. Nominators
· Nominated by organizations: organizations should be 3A grade Hospitals, medical colleges or
  institutions, medical associations, hosted organizations.

  Each organization is able to nominate 3 nominees.

· Nominated by others: presidents or directors from 3A grade Hospitals, medical colleges or
  institutions and medical associations, academy members.

  Each individual is able to nominate 3 nominees.

· Self-nomination


2. Nomination Methods
Please download Nomination Form or Self-Nomination Form from the link. Submission deadline will be October 30, 2015 for Nomination Form and November 30, 2015 for Self-Nomination Form.

SELECTION STANDARDS


Candidates will be evaluated based upon the following aspects:

1. Timeliness
Research field plays a leading role internationally and domestically; research in the field has already won certain awards.
 
2. Originality
Research differentiates itself from other research in the field and has demonstrated a unique approach.
 
3. Paper Publications
Evaluation of the quality of the candidate’s publications.
 
4. Influence of Research Results
The impact of the research both within its direct field and more broadly within biology.
 
5. International Impact
Have the research results been presented in international conferences? Is the candidate involved in international collaborations?
